It seems to me that “pro-choice”, pro-abortionists believe in a magic baby-fairy that sprinkles magic baby-dust on the “fetus” as it passes through the birth canal magically transforming it into a baby.
Sanctity of Life Sunday
Sunday 1 February 2015 marked the 18th anniversary of the legalisation of abortion on demand in South Africa. Every year we lose more pre-born babies to abortion than the combined death toll of crime and car accidents. Abortion is a national shame; it scars mothers and fathers, and is a great sin towards God. Abortion is the killing of children created in God’s image.
Simply fetal tissue?
At 7 weeks a baby is about 1.25 centimetres long, the size of a chick pea. The baby has distinct, slightly webbed fingers and toes. He or she is like a jumping bean, moving in fits and starts. The liver is churning out large amounts of red blood cells until the bone marrow forms and takes over this role. The teeth and palate are forming, while the ears continue to develop. The baby’s skin is paper-thin, and veins are clearly visible.
Abortion is legal up to 20 weeks in South Africa. If the mother is more than 20 weeks pregnant, she can get the abortion if her or the baby’s life is in danger or there are likely to be serious birth defects. Up to 13 weeks a woman in South Africa needs not give any reason for the abortion. Safe baby car seats are by law required for born babies, but unborn babies, particularly up to the age of 5 months, need to fend for themselves.
Marie Stopes “safe abortion” clinics
Marie Stopes advertises different abortion services:
“The first is the abortion pill which uses tablets to terminate a pregnancy. The first set of tablets is taken orally in the clinic and the second set is taken later at home. Early surgical abortion (4-12 weeks) involves a gentle suction method, which the nurse will use to remove the pregnancy from the uterus. This is a very quick and simple procedure that takes less than 5 minutes. The Surgical abortion (12- 20 weeks) is a surgical procedure where the pregnancy is removed vaginally; it is performed by a doctor.”
A couple of observations
“Terminate a pregnancy” and “remove the pregnancy” are very dispassionate expressions for “ending a life” or “killing a baby”.
“A gentle suction method” is obviously from the medical practitioner’s view point, not the baby’s.
“Surgical procedure” sounds more like having a mole removed than dismembering and removing a baby from the womb.
No magic baby-dust
Most people in South Africa get very upset when babies are abused, beaten or harmed in any way. Why is it acceptable that babies are legally killed while still in the womb? Do some believe in a magic baby-fairy?
Oh Father, our hearts are heavy when we think of abortion, when we think of unborn babies created in your image being killed. We pray for mothers and fathers, many of whom may be in desperate circumstances, causing them to consider abortion. Oh Lord God, please intervene and use us as your church to make a real difference. Help us to love all mothers, help us to support adoption, fostering, safe house and orphanages, help us to demonstrate Christ’s love in very practical ways. Please bring an end to abortion in our country. Please convict our citizens and lawmakers of the sanctity of life AFTER and BEFORE birth. Amen.
You may have had an abortion. Please know that with God there is forgiveness, hope and a fresh start.
